Business Resources on the Web

 


 

Many of the standard print tools used to provide business reference are now available on the Internet.  This workshop will look at the print resources and their online equivalents that are freely available through OPLIN.  Reference tools will include THOMAS, Hoovers Online, and Statistical Abstracts.  Other sources of information available through the Federal, State and Local Governments will be explored, including where to find company profiles and stock market data, and various types of economic data.  Learn about the world of business, statistics, and government.

 

 

Goals:

·        Understand THOMAS, Hoovers Online and other business databases

·        Master Statistical Abstracts

·        Learn about economic forecasting sites

 

Audience: Librarians and reference staff who provide business reference assistance and any other interested library staff.
