- Find the most current economic indicators using
the Census site.

- In what order will the census information be
released?

- All the states are subject to redistricting
every 10 years. When was / will the information released by the
Census Bureau?

Find charts that show historical census
data? How has the population changed since 1900? Since 1850?

Using the historical census, look at
the changes in industry in your county. How does agriculture or farming
in 1900 compare with the same industry today? How about manufacturing?
How does that compare?

Using the US Gazetteer, find a map of
the ‘Flint Ridge’ park district.

Find statistics on the private home
construction industry. [hint use
NAICS codes] How many companies are
their in your county, in the state, in the country?

What is the Gross Domestic Product? And
where can I find the numbers that the news is always reporting?

How many people over 18 live in your
census block? How many have an educational level above High School?

How many people live in your county in
2000 as compared with 1990?

- Using
Censtats,
find the annual survey of International Trade Data. What does it tell
us about your county? About the steel industry?
