Teaching Internet Reference Websites


Description:

Librarians are constantly challenged to teach Internet sites to their patrons, staff members and themselves.  This paper discusses how to teach websites effectively.  Learn how to navigate layout and access points, evaluate content, and understand the benefits and drawbacks of sites.    Weigh the benefits of teaching using a Power Point presentations versus using the site live.  Never underestimate the benefits of an alternative teaching method.  Learn about sites that have great information and resources that keep you coming back for more.  This paper presents techniques for designing exercises to help you master the content of a site and teach it to your patrons.
