This half day workshop will show reference staff how to locate travel and tourism information on the Internet. Whether your patron is traveling for business or pleasure, with the children or the dog, or as a captive spouse or companion, there is lots to do wherever they go. National Parks, tourist sights, blue highways and exotic locations are just around the corner and in the next town. So why not find them, put them in a GPS, and explore.We will review reference sites and Internet resources that include National, State and Local Parks, hotels and motels price guides, work/study/tour programs, and converting your money. We will look at travel in North America, and around the world. You never know what exciting places are lurking in your home town.
Participants will be able to:
- Find travel sites for the whole family
- Identify tour packages and cruises to and within various cities and countries
- Changing money
- Passport and Visas information, shots and vaccinations
- Locating maps and historic information to learn about the places you travel to.
